President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Mrs Mary Tan hosted their first National Day Reception at the Istana on Friday.
The reception is an annual event held to celebrate Singapore's birthday.
The guests included Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and other cabinet ministers.
Community and grassroots leaders, sportsmen and social entrepreneurs were also present.
They were treated to a performance of the National Day Parade theme song "Love at First Light" by Ms Olivia Ong and Ms Natanya Tan.
